Effect of Self-management Program on Self-Efficacy, Quality of Life, and Depression in Patients with Mild cognitive impairment

Abstract
Objective : The purpose of this study is to find out the effects of self-care programs on self-efficacy, quality of life, and depression on patients with mild cognitive impairment.

Methods : A total of eight programs were conducted once a week from March 2019 to May 2019 for 30 elderly people who lived in S city and were diagnosed with mild cognitive impairment (MCI). Self-effective scale, Geriatric quality of life, short form of Geriatric stress scale for Korean were conducted to evaluate the self-efficacy, quality of life and depression of patients before and after intervention.

Results : Patients with mild cognitive impairment who conducted self-care programs before and after intervention showed significant differences in self-efficacy, quality of life and depression (p<.01).

Conclusion : Through this study, we hope that the self-management program can be actively used as an intervention method to prevent the progression of patients with mild cognitive impairment to dementia.
